Rated 5 out of 5 by from Because he had to choose just one! My puppy, Rex, is a 16 month old Blue Heeler and has been eating Taste Of The Wild brand dog food since he was three months old. He outweighs his litter siblings and will soon outweigh his heaviest older sibling. He is a healthy dog and is very well behaved, for the most part. He enjoys every flavor offered except is allergic to salmon so Pacific Stream isn’t an option. I wouldn’t have his food choice be any other brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally Found a Dog Food Both Dogs Love My dogs are both picky and have different tastes so I've been trying several different dogs food from Blue Buffalo to Canidae and I just couldn't find a food both dogs would be happy to eat. I finally switched to taste of the wild and eventually tried Sierra Mountain and I have never seen my dogs so happy to eat. It's a high quality dog food and my dogs love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean bowl after every meal! Since cocker spaniels are prone to allergies, ear problems, and skin conditions, I decided to start my puppy out on a high quality grain free pet food from the beginning. After much research, I chose to go with Taste of the Wild.... first on the High Prairie puppy food and now on to the Sierra Mountain formula. My boy loves this food! I never have to worry if he will eat, and we've had no vet visits for health problems or concerns. Also, it's very reasonably priced, which is always a plus. Great food!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from From Hero to Zero Not sure where you went wrong but SOMETHING IS WRONG. We've been feeding Sierra Mountain for months and our dog was perfectly fine. This last bag that we bought in July he has been losing weight, lethargic and has been trouble walking. The SAME problems that many others have been reporting on consumer reports. How could you possibly be ignoring this? We will NEVER buy your products again. SHAME ON YOU.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST food out there! I recently switched to this dog food and I’ve already noticed quite a few GREAT changes in my dogs diet and overall health. My German Shepherd Black Lab mix is about 10 years old and has gotten dull fur as he has aged, but after I switched to the new food it got shiny almost instantly! His stool has gotten a lot better (less runny) and his breath doesn’t stink anymore! I love that the food is packed with vegetables and fruits so I know he’s getting a well balanced meal. This food has been a life changer and I’ll definitely be keeping him on it! thanks TOW!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for all of our dogs. We have been feeding our terrier mutts TOTW lamb formula for years, after switching from a competitor brand when one of my dogs had allergy issues. They have done great since the switch. About a month ago we rescued a young husky from an abusive neighbor. The husky was under weight and had ZRD, a severe zinc deficiency. Since switching the husky to TOTW lamb formula he had gained the proper amount of weight and the ZRD has cleared up, just by feeding him this food. We are very happy to have found Taste of the Wild!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rocky "wolfed" it down! I have a 17 month old Dameranian named Rocky. He has seizures and through the process of elimination, I found he's highly sensitive to chemicals and poultry. He became an extremely picky eater, afraid of becoming sick I suppose. Trying to find a dog food that doesn't have poultry/fowl in it is like trying to find the proverbial needle. Not to mention expensive! I've made him homemade food from the day he came into our family, so that was no problem. But there are times when supplemental food is a necessary luxury. But he hated every single food we tried. Not the Sierra Mountain! Short story...Rocky loves it. Thank you so much for an affordable, appealing, healthy dog food. I bought one can of the Sierra Mountain, also. I'll see tomorrow what he thinks of that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog eats better than me It all started when she was a baby. We bought her blue seal food. We thought we were doing good for her. I may have tried one other food but no matter what she ate, she always got sick. I have no idea where we got the idea to try grain free but we found taste of the wild at Paris farmers union and decided to give it a go! Needless to say, we've never looked back and no more upset belly!! She even gets excited when her package comes from chewy.com. She can smell right through all of that packaging. Thank you so much for making such an awesome food for my steel gut/not so steel gut lab!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love all Taste of the Wild foods My dogs are currently both on the Sierra Mountain formula and I get many compliments on how healthy they look, because they are. The cat loves his Taste of the Wild dry food, too. I've fed it for years and recommend it to everyone I know. Great quality products with good ingredients that the animals all love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No problem with sensitive puppy I have a 1 year old German Wirehaired Pointer who has been really food sensitive for his entire life. After the previous food brand hit the news in the worst way possible, we finally decided to move on and but TOTW dog food. Friends told us that lamb is more digestible than chicken, so we gave it a try. Two weeks after (and with very little food transition) our puppy is perfect! No soft stools, no gastrointestinal problems... Just perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped Dog with Sensitive Stomach!!! We have a 5 month old GSD and switched her dog food several times because she would have diarrhea every couple of days. Started looking at taste of the wild because it was higher quality dry food that had every single flavor as grain free. Tried the high prairie flavor and it was fine at first, but she was back to diarrhea in a few days, so started to look up other options. Some people said that particular flavor might be too much protein for some dogs and that supports my theory that she just has a super sensitive stomach. She’s been dewormed and all that so we knew that wasn’t the issue. Then I saw someone suggested the lamb flavored formula as it helped their dog with the same problem. Slowly switched her over to that one, but even the first day you could see was much more solid! Also want to add that with both formulas, dog absolutely loved it! She would chow it down and if any of the other animals got near they learned to expect some barking for getting to close to her bowl!! First food that we’ve had success on after trying several different brands and styles!! Thank you TOTW!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Day 10 of both big dogs sick My 7 year old 130# Newfoundland-girl and 12-1/2 year old 85# Labradoodle-boy had been on TOTW Wetlands (fowl) dry food for 3+ months with NO issues after successfully being on American Natural Premium Duck & Pork grain-free for 6 years - only switched to save $10/30# bag every 2 weeks. Just to give them a less 'rich' diet, I bought a 30# bag of the lower protein & fat levels Sierra Mountain (lamb) early last week. I planned to do a 50/50 old & new TOTW blend for a couple days, even tho switching recipes shouldn't require it. My labradoodle turned his nose at his 1st food dish of the blend last Wednesday, so I enticed him by soaking it in beef broth and he grudgingly ate it. During that night (Wednesday) both dogs vomited in the house (extremely rare for either). I continued to offer the blend over the next few meals as they both went from frequent vomiting to diarrhea, then bloody diarrhea, then explosive diarrhea inside & outside, then both stopped eating altogether...the vomiting ceased but not the diarrhea. They were both miserable and just wanted to lay in the back yard. I offered them boiled ground beef & rice and neither would touch that until Sunday. Sunday I took the 'bad' bag of Sierra Mtn kibble back to the store, explained situation, and they allowed me to exchange for fresh bag of Wetlands. After discussions with our vet, 2 days ago I started adding Wetlands to beef/rice mix & yesterday they were both back on 100% kibble. Newfie finally had a semi-solid stool this AM, but labradoodle vomited foam again last night. Normally both have cast iron stomachs. NEVER have we had anything like this happen. I didn't record the manufacturing info from the bad bag, because the store exchanged it, but they should have it - Pet Supply Outlet of Sheboygan, WI. I plan to have full blood panels done on each dog at next annual, if not before...at $90 each (so much for saving $10/bag). If we have ANY future problems with TOTW, I'll switch away forever and spread the word. This has been an unbelievable 10 days for us...and it isn't over!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Llasa Apso Loves meal time! Ginger is 6 and I have had her the last two years. We love the lamb formula, no allergies! Coat looks great. She is 20 lbs and 1 cup fills her up. Nugget size is great for her small size. She has a mostly seditary life style. We walk about a mile per day, she is in the yard some, but mostly naps and watches out the windows. Glad she was on this brand when I got her!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best choice of dog food! When we adopted our now 1 year old lab mix, it was important that we not only find a wholesome healthy food for our pup but also one he loved! We purchased 3 bags of different flavors, opened them and let him choose which one he liked more! He immediately stuck his head inside the roasted lamb formula and he’s been hooked ever since!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Picky Weimaraner finally eating We've had a difficult time with our young Weimaraner showing prolonged interest in any food. He's always been very lean (he's 11 months now), so I've struggled with trying to put weight on him in a healthy way (he's considered a large breed due to the amount of growth over the first year). We've tried kibble, kibble + wet, raw homemade, and adding Dyne, a weight gain supplement. I've spent a lot of money on getting my guy to eat! He's only ever eaten about 1/2 to 3/4 of his serving size for any of the foods/regimes we've picked for the entirety of his existence thus far. I'm so happy to say that he's finally interested in eating with this Taste of the Wild formula. He's actually eating the hard kibble (after most recently being on a raw, soft formula) and we're over joyed. Thank you for your product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best dog food ever We have 4 doxie and a great pyrenees so wwr cover the size spectrum from huge to small. Our little ones had allergies so we decided to try grain free. We were lucky that Taste of the Wild was the first, and last, food we tried. The dogs loved it and the scratching stopped within a few weeks. They don't have a favorite flavor. We rotate to a different one each time we buy. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good dry food to feed your four legged family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog loves Taste Of The Wild My Coca-Poo is now 12 yrs old and I have been feeding her Taste Of The Wild for most of those years. She is a very happy, healthy and active dog. Everyone that has the pleasure of interacting with her, they believe she is a puppy. When I inform them of her age, they are shocked. Their comments include that she is so full of energy, her coat is so soft, she looks so good etc. I tell everyone that I take very good care of her, including what I feed her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality food my dog loves Around a year of age, while on another premium food, our pup developed ongoing loose stools and tummy troubles. After several vet visits and temporarily putting him on a hypoallergenic formula, we found Taste of the Wild and their chicken-free Sierra Mountain. For the first time in months his stools looked normal. He has been on TOTW for six months and is healthy and happy, so we're happy too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Food, Dog Loves it Our adopted Pitbull mix had some trouble with stool consistency, but since we've started to wean him on to TOTW, his stools have been healthy and easy to pass. He also really loves the taste and is far more excited about mealtimes. We weren't looking specifically for a grain-free diet, but I'm pretty convinced at this point that it's only had positive healthy benefits.

My 2 year old Boxer has been dealing with slightly elevated liver enzymes his whole life. I had him on the High Prairie Dog Food originally but was concerned that the large amount of protein would be tough on his liver. Which food would you recommend?

Asked by: Scottie
Hello, Scottie. Since your Boxer has a chronic medical issue, it would be best to discuss diet with your veterinarian. The Sierra Mountain Canine Formula has 25.6% protein on an as-fed basis, quite a bit lower than the High Prairie. Your vet should be able to tell you if this is a good choice based on your dog’s medical history.
