About Taste of the Wild

Family-Owned. Pet-Focused.

Taste of the Wild is, and has always been, owned and operated by one family, a family that owns pets and want the best for them. Realizing the need for a quality pet food that is still affordable, we set out on an adventure to create it — one that was inspired by the idea that no one knows what dogs and cats should eat better than their own DNA. That’s why we call it Taste of the Wild.

Packed with nutrition inspired by nature — with the flavors they crave and at a price you can afford — Taste of the Wild is sure to satisfy your pets’ needs at a value you deserve.

Our Standards

Taste of the Wild is committed to providing the best nutrition at a fair value. This is why every ingredient we use is recommended by a team of nutritionists and veterinarians and sourced through a careful vetting process.

Toby logs 20-40 miles on the trail each week and has summited four 14ers in Colorado and two volcanoes in Washington, in addition to many smaller peaks across the U.S. and Canada. Toby recently became a Bark Ranger while visiting Olympic National Park, so he’s no stranger to holding a reputable position in the wild. He is happiest when there is order in life and believes rules exist to keep everyone safe. He is a natural rule-follower, but even when that rebellious streak does hit once in a blue moon, he is easily reminded of the importance of following rules with a small piece of steak or cheese.

Poi is a 5-year-old adventure cat, living in the southern part of Montana. When she isn’t exploring, she loves to lay on the shoulders of her family, or nap in their laps. She is extremely smart, knowing around 20 different commands. While sandwich meat is used as her special treat, Taste of the Wild Pet Food has been the main supply of food used to train her over the last few years.

Live like someone left the gate open.. that is our motto around here! Love hiking anytime I have a chance… grab your hiking boots and join me on my adventures! Yosemite National Park is one of my favorite places to hike, what I consider my backyard and have a sniff’a’fari as often as possible. I have my own hiking boots to keep my paws safe. Last year I was in 6 states exploring on so many hikes including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and of course my home state of Central California near Yosemite. I do get all my energy from the Taste of the Wild kibble (Pine Forest) as I have several allergies.
