Wetlands Canine Recipe with Roasted Fowl is rated out of 5 by 94.Rated 5 out of 5 by Owl E from what I purchase for my bull mastiff and cats Good quality food, but I don’t see quail on the ingredient list for the canine waterfowl as cited. I do supplement the mastiff and cats with venison, raw bones and bone broth.Date published: 2019-02-11Rated 5 out of 5 by AVA and Stormy from Our dogs DIG it! After years of eating various specialized Duck formulas, I decided to try Taste of the Wild Wetlands Canine Recipe. I did not get my hopes up, because my dog is a bit fussy. He went for the Wetlands Canine Recipe immediately. His coat was glowing within a week! I had some of his old favorite left from before the change, and my 3 year old German Shepherd turned his nose up to it. I am sold on this formula, and my best buddy seems to be pretty darned happy about it also!Date published: 2023-03-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Wayne D from Bags Why don’t your bags come with a resealable opening? It would make usage easier.Date published: 2021-05-24Rated 3 out of 5 by justaconcerneddogmom from Not Anymore I have a ~1.5 y/o Australian Cattle Dog mix whom I've been feeding this to since I got him a few months ago. He's never really liked it or enthusiastically eaten it. Sometimes he would skip entire meals because he just wasn't interested in it. His previous owner often fed him human food, though, so I just chalked it up to that. However, recently I found out about a new lawsuit against Taste of the Wild, due to high amounts of lead in their kibble. I did some researching and found out TOTW has had a similar lawsuit last year, and the parent brand, Diamond Pet Foods, has a long list of past recalls. I'm not sure of the validity of the claims in the newest lawsuit, but considering their history...I'm not going to take any chances. I switched to another brand, and my dog eats much more enthusiastically now. I will say, however, that other than these lead/heavy metal problems, TOTW is pretty good. 32% minimum protein is really good compared to the average dog food, and the ingredients are solid (no corn, gluten, dyes, by-products, etc.). While eating TOTW, my dog was healthy, energetic, and had a beautiful coat and clean white teeth, so kudos. I would have kept him on it, but I don't want to take any chances!Date published: 2019-03-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Nicpilmac from Changed our dog for the better! Our dog was having terrible allergies- would scratch all night and got no sleep. He was clearly a little miserable; we tried medicine but we didn’t love the idea of that being the only solution. We switched his food a bunch to no avail and he wouldn’t want the food after a couple weeks. We were in the pet store and asked one of the employees what food to try and he suggested Taste of the Wild. We were skeptical but decided to try it. A couple weeks went by and we noticed less itching and he kept being interested in the food. A couple months have gone by, his itching has subsided and he loves his food! We couldn’t be happier. The food also meets his dietary needs as a very active, large dog. It’s also sold at feed stores which helps because we don’t have any pet stores close to us to regular buy the food. Highly recommend!Date published: 2023-03-14Rated 5 out of 5 by aaron28 from one picky dog is happy I have two big dogs a german shepard mix and a newfie mix. The german shepard is picky who only eats certain meats and anything like/similar to chicken isn't one of them. I bought the sample size to see how they would react to the flavor and my german shepard can't eat it quick enough. He usually waits for me to feed my other dog before he starts eating but not with this brand. When I run out of the sample size bag I will be buying the big bagDate published: 2019-02-02Rated 5 out of 5 by rose168 from Great food We have been feeding taste of the wild to our dogs for 5 years. It's is healthy and provides everyday nutrition without worrying about skin issues. As a dog trainer, I see a lot of dogs with food issues and recommend taste of the wild. As a Boxer breeder, it gives my dogs beautiful coats. Our Boxers compete in confirmation and obedience. Taste of the wild gives them that proper nutrition for brain, bone and muscle development. They love it.Date published: 2022-05-07Rated 5 out of 5 by tgil from All of my dogs love it I will never feed another product. I’ve fed her this since she came to me (overweight and generally unhealthy). She loves it (and occasionally other of the kibble varieties if this isn’t in stock), and her weight has been under outstanding control from nearly the beginning of her time with me. She has, during this time, had so much energy and enjoyed very good health.Date published: 2023-03-14Rated 5 out of 5 by M a c from Our 16 year old English Lab loves it We have a 16 year old English Lab that for the last couple of weeks has been not eating her senior food. He's been on it for a week now and has shown a marked improvement in a very short time, plus he loves it.Date published: 2021-06-03Rated 5 out of 5 by Qfish from Our picky pups love it! My Dachsund's original Vet was very particular about her diet. She wasn't overweight but worried about her as she would age since she is a relatively small dog. I have been feeding Taste of the Wild to my pup for 8 years. He is the picture of health. When he did have a cough, I had a hard time convincing the vet he was sick! Our double coat, mixed shepherd has chronic fungal skin infections. Would the Wetlands blend be the best choice to help reduce yeast overgrowth? Our son feeds his dog the Pacific blend and LOVES the results!
Hello and thanks for reaching out! We’re sorry to hear about your pup’s skin infections. Taste of the Wild is formulated without grains, and with unique protein sources, so pets with food and skin sensitivities often do well on our products. We have two recipes that are our top choices for pets with skin sensitivities due to their limited protein sources: Pacific Stream and Sierra Mountain. Additionally, our Taste of the Wild PREY formulas could be a great option for pups with skin allergies due to their limited ingredients. Each formula contains no more than four key ingredients (one animal protein source, sunflower oil, tomato pomace and lentils). We recommend working with your veterinarian to determine what may be causing your dog’s skin infections.
