Wetlands Canine Recipe with Roasted Fowl is rated out of 5 by 94.Rated 5 out of 5 by Spacyj76 from This food gave my dog his spirit back It wasn't long after our bully-pit came to live with us he started showing signs of distress. He would go days without activity or eating. His poo stank awful and we started having to take him to the vet for ibs. Trying many different options of food that some helped but didnt fix his tummy aches. Then we found taste of the wild that stated it had prebiotics that was vet recommended and almost immediately he got healthier, happier, and free from the distress. Most definitely his coat was shinier and softer and he was having healthy easy bowl movements. His energy went through the roof and taste of the wild just made everything better including our wallet because we less vet visits. I highly recommend this food.Date published: 2019-10-08Rated 5 out of 5 by ItismyHonor from Great all around option I got my pit bull mix, Honor, from a shelter a few months ago and I was using a brand of food that I had used for previous dogs. I began noticing Honor had problems with constipation and was losing little patches of hair. I transitioned him to the TOTW wetlands and he's been doing wonderful since. Stools are regular and his coat looks great! I've even noticed that his coat feels less coarse than before. For a grain free dry food with multiple sources of protein, this brand and particularly this formula is comparable to the highest rated on the market and is more affordable by far. I chose this particular formula because it has multiple fowl protein but has the ocean fish meal as well. And Honor loves the taste as well. Highly recommended!Date published: 2017-05-25Rated 5 out of 5 by hula_moon from Our Dogs Love Taste of the Wild! We rotate between the wetlands and high prairie formulas for our pack of White Swiss Shepherds and little terrier mix rescue pups. All of our dogs do great on Taste of the Wild and LOVE eating both formulas. We feed twice daily and supplement with raw meaty bones, green lamb tripe, and other goodies :) All of our dogs have gorgeous coats, healthy teeth, and tons of energy. Taste of the Wild is an excellent quality food and we couldn't be happier with their products!Date published: 2018-04-21Rated 4 out of 5 by NyksMom from Just what DR ordered We have been feeding Taste of the Wild formulas since our Lab mix Nyk was 8 months old . In 2017 at 4 yrs old he was diagnosed with a Mass Cell Tumour. Along with medical treatment it was suggested we put him on a cancer fighting diet. The key was to find a high quality grain free food with as high a protein to carb ratio as possible to use as the base of his new diet. We researched and considered dozens of foods looking at reviews, testing, and ingredients. Wetlands Canine from Taste of The Wild is a perfect choice for us because of the types and percentage of protein as well as the quality of other ingredients. And Nyk LOVES it. Now age 5 he's happy and healthy and can't wait for his meals with Wetlands Canine. In fact he sneaks a taste every time we open a new bag!Date published: 2018-04-20Rated 5 out of 5 by domo1017 from 1.5 Yr Old Boxer We've tried quite a few different brands and found the Fowl formula to be what our Pup needed. She likes the taste and her stool is consistently good.Date published: 2016-10-28Rated 5 out of 5 by auntsweetea from This food saved my dog with IBD Havoc bag been sick for many years with minimal luck. After a diagnosis of IBD in 2020, our vet put him on a low fat EN formula, with minimal help to his poor stomach. Several months later on the new food, he was still vomiting regularly and couldn't keep food down. A friend recommended your formula to me, and at this point I was desperate to try anything. Not only did he eat it right away (a large feat), he didn't "grow tired" of it and stop eating it after a few days! His anorexia subsided, we got him on a regular feeding schedule, and his pancreatic episodes have been significantly reduced! Thank you! Thank you!Date published: 2022-09-30Rated 5 out of 5 by keithcap from My German Shepherd (Jem) Loves Taste of the Wild! I had Jem on another very expensive food, she stopped eating it after being sick out of the blue, even her Vet couldn't figure out why. I switched to Taste of the Wild-Roasted Foul (Grain Free) after some research, she started to eat again right away, her energy level doubled, and her coat was shinier than ever! Her fecal matter is solid, she runs with "the pack" at the dog park for what seems to be forever, her spirit is great, and she looks forward to her meals as well as her treat ball that I also load with her Taste of the Wild kibbel. I'm so happy that I made the switch!!Date published: 2019-07-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from My dog's top favorite brand and flavor Jago started out with the boar as a 1 year old and has loooved it ever since. I have gotten him other flavors and he looks at it and grunts and so I have to give whatever flavor I purchased him to the other animals in my house to eat anything and get him the boar. He loves that one but has also fallen deeply in love with fowl. He can't choose which he loves the most. He is currently on his. 3ird bag of the fowl. These are the only two he will eat he will not eat any other flavor he's the most pickiest German Shepherd Of My Life whatever makes him happy I guess I recommend this brand and this flavor 10 out of 10 to anyone who has a very picky animal it's very easy on their stomach helps bowl movements definitely keep the energy up and helps him sleep at night. It's pretty pricey but honestly I just want the best for my pup so I'll pay whatever for the best because he deserves itDate published: 2020-04-24Who owns Taste of the Wild

By any chance, have any of the ingredients changed over the years or is it EXACTLY the same?
Hi, there – we are sorry to hear about your dog’s hot spots. Please know, hot spots can be triggered by a number of different factors. If you haven’t already done so, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine the cause. Occasionally, our recipes may go through minor updates, due to an improvement in the recipe or an ingredient that is not available. When this occurs, the change is accompanied by a new ingredient listing on the package. In regards to our Wetlands Formula, the only change we’ve made in the past year are our updated probiotics. We updated our proprietary probiotic blend to include five strains of probiotics. Through extensive research and proprietary technology, Taste of the Wild developed the probiotics specifically for dogs. K9 Strain® Probiotics are derived from bacteria that are found in the GI tract of dogs and then processed under strict quality and safety standards for guaranteed purity and viability. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at 1-800-342-4808 (8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CT weekdays).Date published: 2018-12-14How can there be live microorganisms in the food when it is cooked at high temperatures? Thank you....Helen W.
Hi, Helen. Our probiotics, which are the live microorganisms, are added after the cooking process which would otherwise kill the beneficial bacteria. This is how we guarantee that every cup of Taste of the Wild dry pet food provides live, active cultures.Date published: 2018-03-04I have been using this product since July, and I find that my dog's get diarrhea every so often, I am not sure if it is the product or just that my dog's may have a sensitive stomach . I have been using the Formula with Roasted Fowl,
Hi, thanks for your question. For dogs that have occasional diarrhea, the most likely culprit is something they ate that was not part of their regular diet. This could be a treat or it could be something that they found in the yard or on a walk. If the diarrhea occurs every time you feed a certain type of treat or a certain type of people food, try stopping this particular item and see if the problem stops. It is possible for a dietary intolerance to a particular food to result in intermittent symptoms of digestive upset. It might be a good idea to try one of our other formulas to see if the intermittent symptoms resolve. The Sierra Mountain is a good choice as it is a lamb recipe (different from what you are currently feeding) and also has lower protein and fat than the Wetlands. We always recommend to check with your veterinarian to see if they have any additional suggestions.Date published: 2020-04-20I have a 25lb 10 mo old puppy & a 7 year old 15lb terrier; can you recommend a dry food that does 'not' contain beef, and a can food that does 'not' contain beef. Would the Canine Formula with Roasted Fowl work? I normally feed a chicken based diet.
Hello, our Wetlands Canine Formula with Roasted Fowl does not contain beef and is an excellent option for your Terrier. This formula was developed as a maintenance diet for adult dogs. Our Wetlands Canine Formula with Roasted Fowl is also a great choice for your puppy, since your puppy is already 10 months old. As a general guide, we recommend transitioning from puppy food to adult food between 10-12 months of age. Our Wetlands Canine Formula with Fowl in Gravy is also free of beef, and is appropriate for both your dogs as well. It is formulated to meet the nutritional needs of growing puppies as well as adult dogs. If you have additional questions or would like personal formula recommendations for both your dogs, feel free to contact our product specialists at 1-800-342-4808 or http://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/#contact-us.Date published: 2018-03-04I bought my 7 week old GSD and the breeder said that she has been on solid food for a while. He said to get the TOTW with fowl. I questioned him about it being an adult dog food and he said that he's always used your food for his puppies. I'm so confused!
Hi, Kimberly. While our Wetlands Canine Formula is a great option for adult dogs, it was developed as a maintenance diet and does not provide the key nutrients that growing puppies need. As a general guide, we recommend feeding puppies one of our all life stages formulas as they are formulated to meet the nutritional requirements of growing puppies and include added DHA to help aid in proper brain and eye development in growing dogs. The following formulas are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages and will be appropriate to feed to your puppy: - High Prairie Puppy with Roasted Bison & Roasted Venison - Pacific Stream Puppy with Smoked Salmon - Pine Forest Canine with Venison & Legumes - Southwest Canyon Canine with Wild Boar - Sierra Mountain Canine with Roasted Lamb If you would like to speak with a product specialist about specific formula recommendations or other questions you may have, please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-342-4808 or email us by visiting https://www.tasteofthewild.com/#contactus.Date published: 2018-03-04Why did you reduce bag size to 28 lbs. from 30 lbs.? This is ridiculous.... I feed 3 dogs and need larger bags of food. Why didn't you just increase the price instead of smaller bags? Can I get 30 lb. bags somewhere? It won't even fill up my container.
Hi, Lori - thank you for reaching out. We have updated select sizes and recipes to 5-, 14- and 28 pound bags. Unfortunately, TOTW and many others in the industry are faced with the reality of increased costs of raw ingredients and transportation. So TOTW has adjusted the size of those select recipe bags without adjusting the price. The TOTW family will continue to look for ways to provide high-quality, yet affordable pet food options to pet parents.Date published: 2019-02-25Hi, Our 1yr old Australian Shepherd is high energy and competing in show. Hi Ashley, thanks for your question! Many pets enjoy eating more than one formula. To avoid digestive upset, we recommend limiting your rotation to two formulas and gradually mixing formulas over a couple of weeks. When you transition between formulas, slowly reduce the amount of the old formula and increase the new formula.Date published: 2017-11-22I have a six YO Border Terrier with skin issues the vet says are food related. Hello and thanks for reaching out. All of our recipes are manufactured in and distributed from our five state-of-the-art facilities all located in the United States – two in California, one in Missouri, one in Arkansas and one in South Carolina. In addition, most of the ingredients in Taste of the Wild originate in the U.S. There are critical ingredients, however, that are not available domestically in an adequate supply or with as much quality as our international supply. These ingredients are critical to our recipes (i.e. folic acid and taurine) and can only be sourced out of China. Our choice is to include these ingredients or manufacture our foods without them, which, in our view, would not be in the best interest of your pet. We understand the concern about products sourced outside of the U.S. Food safety is our top priority. Our ingredients go through numerous quality assurance checks – from the time an ingredient arrives to the end process of shipping – to ensure the safety of our products. For more information on our food safety program, visit https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/quality-assurance/.Date published: 2019-01-14Do I need to give my dogs multivitamins supplements if I feed him Taste of the Wild Dry Food with Fowl?
