I'm trying to find something that I can feed both of them so that I don't have to keep buying two different types of dog food. Is this one good for both or would you suggest another type?
Hi, Angela. Our Pine Forest Formula is a great choice for dogs at any life stage. With venison as the main source of protein, your pet will have a highly digestible, heart-healthy protein that provides the necessary nutrients to support strong bones and muscles. Like all Taste of the Wild formulas, Pine Forest is grain-free and supplemented with vegetables and fruits and includes probiotics to support a healthy immune system.Date published: 2020-02-04Hi, how many cups are in this 28 lb bag? I have tried several foods and Taste of the Pine seems to be a good match for my girls. How many cups of food is contained in the 28# bag? Thanks, Dan
Hello, and thanks for reaching out! The 28lb bag of our Pine Forest Canine Recipe contains approximately 112 cups.Date published: 2021-05-14my dog is 4 and eats 2cups a day, no treats but gained weight. She eats high prarie, would this kind be more likely to help her lose a few lbs and maintain? She has alergies and does well on venison.
Hello again. While our Pine Forest Canine Formula is a great formula, it is contains the same amount of calories per cup as High Prairie. In order for your dog to lose weight, you will need to decrease the total amount of calories she eats per day. We recommend trying a leaner formula such as our Sierra Mountain Canine Formula with Roasted Lamb. It is our lowest calorie formula with 338 kcal/cup versus 370 kcal/cup in High PrairieDate published: 2017-09-23My dogs are pretty active dogs. We make sure they are outside a good chunk of the day but with winter coming along they are inside more and more. I have a lab that packs on fat easily. What is the best line that helps control weight?
Hi Katie. We’re glad you’re thinking ahead! We suggest you continue to feed the current formula, following the feeding guide. If your Lab’s weight becomes an issue, transitioning to formulas recommended for less-active dogs such as Sierra Mountain or Pacific Stream might be beneficial. They are slightly lower in protein and fat than other Taste of the Wild recipes.Date published: 2018-09-08
