Rated 5 out of 5 by from A welcomed change in our home! We just recently made the switch to Taste of the Wild dry cat good after several friends and family recommend it, and our girls absolutely love the Roasted Venison & Smoked Salmon! As soon as I opened the first bag, they could smell it and came running over. You can see one here sneaking away with a mouthful and the other about to stick her head in there after I turned away for just a second! Not only do they love it, but I love it too! The ingredients list is impressive, it smells great, and since making the switch a few weeks ago, we haven't stepped in and/or had to clean up a single hairball or vomit, something we seemed to frequently with our old brand of dry cat food. It's a much welcomed change!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cat eats better than me I am very particular about what I feed my cat. I go through an hour deciding what food I buy her when the time comes to change her meal. This does not include the research I do beforehand, or the peer review process my decision undertakes. I never go through the labels for my groceries but for my Cookie every detail is memorized. After all these, I finally decided to settle on this product. My verdict: my cat absolutely adores it! She seems to enjoy the taste. Her feces is better formed, and smells more pleasant. Her coat is great and she is very active. I am very happy about my purchase and this will surely be her staple for now. Thanks for a great product guys!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Cats Love This My cats love TOTW and look shiny, beautiful, lean and healthy. I also appreciate the fact that their litter box doesn't reek, is easy to clean. This tells me their food is being digested and used in their body not being pooped out. When I was feeding another well known brand, found in most feed stores, my cats' coat looked greasy and dull. The cats were fat, lethargic and the litter box was disgusting! I have used TOTW for over 5 years now and have no intention of switching to anything else. Plus, my cats eat less of TOTW than they ate of the other food and seem more satisfied than before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All 3 cats love it! We have 3 cats that are different ages and breeds. All 3 of them love this! We decided to upgrade their food to grain-free and started by mixing 50/50 with the old brand so they can adjust. We normally let them graze on dry food, but they are eating so much that we're going to have to restrict the servings! They are just crazy about it! We typically see occasional vomiting and failed hairball expelling attempts, especially with the 2 older cats. It hasn't happened since we started this food, and we're still on 50/50 mix (until we run out of the old brand). Our oldest cat has been friskier and his stool is not as smelly. I'm very happy with this food and so are our cats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy and tasty ! I prefer giving my cat different brands of dry food time to time and varying as many brands as possible. However, I realised that the periods my cat had Taste of the Wild were the healthiest periods of her lifetime. Whenever she eats Taste of the Wild, her coat gets shinier, loss of fur is minimum and she is more active, more responsive and healthy. This food doesn't have grains and is one of the best dry food for the price / value. I guess I will change my habit on varying the food and stick with this food forever !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 3 cats are in a trance over this food. About a month ago TOTW showed up at my local pet store and I decided to give it a shot. I couldn't be happier!!! All 3 of my cats are in paradise. Their coats look and feel better and my larger female has lost at least 2-3lbs. After they are finished their meal they seem satisfied and don't beg for more. ( Well our Russian Blue could eat and eat but their stomachs are just in love with food.) Interestingly I put even less in their bowls then before and the litter box has improved. Odors have drastically reduced. Add to this grain free and Viola!!! BEST CAT FOOD EVER!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it for years and beyond! My female Himalayan cat is soooo picky when it comes to food. She loves baked potato and sweet potato, so this food is the only brand of kibbles that she tolerates ever. Tried the most expensive one but she doesn't like it. My male Himalayan fortunately is not as picky so he eats whatever she eats. They've been eating this for 4-6 years and never have any health issues, thankfully. They're all of healthy weight, muscles and fats in all the right places.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy Silky Cats! I've been feeding my two girls the Rocky Mountain Feline for a few years now and OMG...they have the nicest coats you've ever touched! They're ultra silky and healthy...they even lost a pound (one was a little chubby prior!) when I put them on this food. It seems to be a really good food for them for a really great price.

What is your manufacturing QC process as you have 5 US plants in different states? Comments have been about inconsistency with different bags/possible sick pets. Also, there was the awful Vit D toxicity where dogs died. Do you monitor vitamin  suppliers?

How much should feed an over weight cat. I'm trying to get her to loose weight? How much should I feed a 6 month old kitten?

Asked by: Melissa
Hello and thanks for reaching out! Our feeding guide (located on each bag and product page) is often a good place to start for your cat and kitten. In order to lose weight, you will likely need to feed about 10-20% less than the amounts listed in the feeding guide for each recipe. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian to find the most appropriate diet based on your cats’ needs.

I have a senior cat! He'll never admit it, but he is getting old and I want to give him the best food that I can. How does your food fair with elder cats? He isn't slowing down yet, but when/if he does will this help with this muscles and joints?

Asked by: AshleyDKT
Hi, Ashley. Our Rocky Mountain Feline Formula is a great choice for healthy senior cats! This formula was developed as an All Life Stages Formula, meaning it supports the nutritional needs for cats of any age and size. If your cat begins to show signs of muscle loss, stiffness or decreased activity, we recommend consulting your veterinarian to determine if there is an underlying disease process that needs to be addressed.

I fed my small dog this thinking it was for dogs, is this food going to hurt my dog

Asked by: lesterpoly
Hello, the cat formulas do not contain any ingredients that are harmful to dogs. However, because of the differing ingredients and composition of cat food versus dog food, some dogs might suffer from gastrointestinal upset (vomiting, diarrhea) after eating cat food. Our canine and feline formulas are developed to meet the specific nutritional needs of each species. We recommend trying our Appalachian Valley formula. This formula features a smaller kibble, making it easier for your dog to chew and digest.

Both of our dry feline formulas are all life stages formulas, meaning they meet the nutritional needs of kittens and cats, so the formulas can be fed indefinitely. Please note, the recommended feeding amounts are not the same for kittens versus adult cats; growing kittens will need to consume larger amounts of food than cats of the same size. Can I use this to help aid weight loss?

Asked by: Bean
We do not have any formulas specifically designed for weight loss. Whether or not your cat will lose weight on our Rocky Mountain Feline Formula depends on their total calorie intake. To lose weight, you will need to feed less calories than you previously were or approximately 10-20% less than the amounts listed in the feeding guide for each formula. Remember to take the calories contributed by treats or other foods you might be feeding. Please consult your veterinarian if you feel your cat still needs to lose weight.

Asked by: Natalia
Hello, and thanks for reaching out! If stored properly, we guarantee the food will stay fresh until the “Best By” date that is stamped on the bag. Please know, the recommended storage method is to keep the food in its original packaging, in order to keep vital information handy. You may store the entire bag in a closed container as well.
