Ancient Wetlands Canine Recipe with Roasted Fowl is rated out of 5 by 249.Rated 5 out of 5 by TytheTazTiger from The leader of the “dog food” pack Great value for the unique, all-life stages nutrition. My pup loves every formula, grain-free and grain-inclusive. Get the most bang for your buck… with less turds!Date published: 2022-04-26Rated 5 out of 5 by katieb42f8 from My dog tried this for the first time today. The way he was eating, you would have thought he was starving. It was gone before I had a chance to put down fresh water. I love that it has good ingredients and my dog clearly likes the taste.Date published: 2019-11-01Rated 5 out of 5 by letswalk_foraminute from I did not know what to expect from this, the packaging is different, the pictures of mountains and wild animals, pretty cool but I could not relate it with dog food.... let me tell you, my dog and my cat had a fight over this food OMG me and my mom could not believe it, we had to give the cat some in his own bowl, they eat the whole thing in 2 minutes, this is amazing. My mom could not get the dog to eat just her dry food, she always has to mix it with half a can of the chunky meat... this was the 1st time in year this dog eat with this enthusiasm!!!!Date published: 2019-10-28Rated 5 out of 5 by heatherj09d0 from My dog is a very picky eater but once I opened a bag that Taste of the Wild sent, I let my dog take a sniff and she instantly went straight for it! The quality is great and I can tell it tasted great because she didnt leave a single grain behind! You can see the freshness and real ingredients in the food, the color itself is a fresh reddish brown but not the dried up brown that normal dog food usually come! We have been using H-E-B brand but I can tell we will probably have to switch over to Taste of the Wild! I cant wait to try the other flavors with her!Date published: 2019-10-27Rated 5 out of 5 by jessica615 from I really care about what my dog eats, so when I got the Taste of the Wild vox box complimentary from Influenster not only was I excited but Daisy was excited as well. As soon as I opened the packaging she knew it was for her. I love that it has all natural ingredients, and high quality meat as the first ingredient. There are no artificial colors or flavors and no extra fillers. This was definitely one of Daisy's favorite foods, she ate every bit of it. If you care about what your dog eats I suggest getting The Taste of the Wild Ancient Grain in any flavor.Date published: 2019-11-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Louball the Screwball from The only thing he'll eat... Louie loves eating "Taste Of The Wild" and would do it all day if I let him. He just can't seem to get enough and licks his bowl clean, then sits back and looks at me like..."Where's the rest"? I feel good about feeding him because I know the ingredients are top notch and I trust this brand more than any others... Since Louie is a smaller breed I like this choice because it is "bite size". Even though Louie has lost his vision, he makes a beeline for his food bowl as soon as I put it down? Now that's a recommendation straight from Louie!Date published: 2022-04-25Rated 5 out of 5 by turnerw from This dog food definitely caught the attention of my pup! I have a ~40 lb black lab/collie mix who just turned two. He is energetic, playful and generally in good health. He usually eats Costco dog food, which he seems to enjoy, but the Taste of the Wild was a treat! My pup scarfed his first serving down so quickly that I started using the pieces as treats - and it worked. Every time he thought I was going near or opening the bag, he was right there, and he would do anything (except roll over - were still learning!) for a little snack. It did not cause him any stomach problems, which I would be concerned about with the introduction of any new food, and he absolutely loved it. However, it would be more realistic for me to make this his primary food if it were less expensive.Date published: 2019-12-03Rated 4 out of 5 by candicep4 from My pitbull Q is a very very picky eater. While my neighbor was watching him for me as a puppy, she would mix ground chicken or something in his dry puppy food. That got him used to eating his food that way. If he doesn't like the dry food he will pick around it. When I put this in his bowl by itself he sniffed it and that was it. I added a little bit of chopped up ham and he tore it up. For his 2nd feeding I didn't add anything to the food. He scarfed it down. Since say cats are used to salmon, chicken, tuna, etc and dogs have beef or chicken flavored stuff, this is very different and something they have to get used to. Q being picky ate it, so there's hope. Lol. I would recommend it. I wouldn't get a huge bag of it until your gets used to it and finds which one they like.Date published: 2019-12-01Rated 5 out of 5 by maddiwood from My dog loves this! I have a Doberman mix whos picky about the food he eats. I opened the box I received from Influenster and my dog was all over it!! He was smelling it, so I opened it up and gave it to him. He was hesitant, because it was new, but he was excited to try it. I gave him one as a treat and he loved it! He instantly went back for more!! He ate the first sample pack and was loving it. I will definitely continue to but this for my dog after this. I highly recommend. !!Date published: 2019-10-29Rated 3 out of 5 by michaelao1 from So right away, my dog loved this stuff. Unfortunately he's still a puppy and thus still on puppy food, and a couple days after trying the first bit, he got sick and wouldn't eat (not because of the food). After doing some research, though, because of the grain content, I probably would not buy this for him. He already has a sensitive stomach, and border collies are ultra sensitive to grains. But if your dog does fine with grains and is over a year, I would recommend this!Date published: 2019-12-12Rated 1 out of 5 by baileeadamz from Was sent this for my dog. He is a rather large American Staffordshire terrier. I read the recommendations that said I should start him off on the food slowly, offering a few kibbles as a treat to see if my pet would enjoy the food. So this is what I did. My dog had MAYBE 4 little kibbles of this food and was extremely sick after eating them. I dont recommend this food at all if you think it may make your dog sick, I wont be using this the rest of what I was sent.Date published: 2019-11-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Chaos from Makes my picky eater a happy boy! We've had large breed dogs for ever, and they would pretty much eat anything you put in front of them. Not so our newest puppy (now 2.5). First time I've ever met a dog who'd rather walk away from food than eat it. Tried many other expensive brands, only to have them refused. Decided to try Taste of the Wild after a recommendation from my local pet supply store; turns out he absolutely loved it!! Now we have full tummies and a happy dog mom!Date published: 2022-04-25Rated 5 out of 5 by tanyab15 from I received a free sample through Influenster. The instructions were to introduce it slow. I fed the whole two sample bags to my Doberman. She absolutely loved it! She also didnt get an upset stomach. She doesnt typically get an upset stomach anyway. Would definitely recommend this dog food. Would love to have tried all the flavors to see if she would have not liked some, but I doubt it. I think she would enjoy all the flavors.Date published: 2019-10-31Rated 5 out of 5 by pandalyssa from Really good quality kibble. Minimal unnecessary fillers and great added nutrients. My dog Maverick is very picky when it comes to food and treats- if it doesnt taste like meat, he wont even touch it. It must have had a lot of the flavor he loves, since he was all over this food before it was even taken out of the bag. I did mix this with his usual dry food just to avoid any tummy upset, but he seemed to love it! #complimentaryDate published: 2019-11-06Rated 5 out of 5 by gabriellew4204 from My dog is super picky with dry food and its been hard to find one he will eat without wet food mixed in. As soon as I poured this food into his bowl he gave it a sniff and chowed down! He prefers smaller pieces of food so he loved the size of this food. Im glad it doesnt have peas since soooo many grain free foods do and they arent good for dogs. I plan on switching him to this brand as soon as his other food is eaten up!Date published: 2019-10-29Rated 3 out of 5 by taylors47 from Great packaging, great ingredients. My dog seemed really excited about trying this new food until it landed in his bowl... he is not a picky eater but wouldnt even touch this food! I had to add chicken to it for him to eat it. Perhaps because it was a new food randomly thrown in his dish, with the small quantity given through influenster, its impossible to make a gradual switch to really see if he would enjoy this recipe.Date published: 2019-11-04Rated 5 out of 5 by jessicamdelatte from my @tasteofthewild VoxBox from @influenster I received these products complimentary for testing purposes!!! The recipes are new, the diet is ancient. This is Duck. This is Ancient Grains ;) & My dog loved it he didn't leave anything in his bowl vs his other pet food he would eat on it all day. I do recommend. #WildForAncientGrains #influenster #tasteofthewild #petfood #dogfood #free #complimentary #voxboxDate published: 2019-10-27Rated 5 out of 5 by breanneb4 from My dog is typically super picky when it comes to food but he loved this food! Sometimes he doesnt even eat his food when I put it out but he ate all of this! Love that this food has no red dye 40 in it as that is something I avoid in my dogs products. Also love that there is a variety of flavors as my dog tends to get tired of eating the same thing. Definitely will be looking into feeding my dog this more!Date published: 2019-10-29Rated 5 out of 5 by marissalee26 from First off let me start by saying that I received this item for free in exchange for a review by influenster. However, I always make sure to be honest in all of my reviews whether they are free or not. This product has convinced me to change from our dog foot that we normally use. We love feeding our dog the best of the best and that is exactly what this dog food was for our dog. We looked at all of the ingredients and compared thenm to Blue Buffalo (our normal dog food brand we use) and it is only a tad bit higher in fat but the difference is so small that it doesn't even matter. This food is high in protein, fiber and other very essential nutrients for a dog. Plus, normally our dog is a very picky eater and she just ate it as if she has been eating this her entire life. I was very impressed with this product and I think we found our dog some new food! Thank you Taste Of The Wild !!Date published: 2019-11-02Rated 3 out of 5 by michelakf from Gave my dog a lot of gas and stomach turmoil. He had trouble making bowel movements but otherwise seemed pretty spirited. Hes a medium sized dog, 60lbs but short and muscular....tends to gain weight due to being part pug so this food isnt for him. I will say, he scarfed it down in a second. Notable that it had an odor that was less than pleasant, especially compared to our usual Blue Buffalo.Date published: 2019-11-06Rated 5 out of 5 by turboterp from Taste of the Wild is the kind of food my dog and I both love. I appreciate that the ingredients contain plenty of protein, and the company practices the highest safety standards to keep my beloved pup safe and healthy. My dog loves the taste and wolfed the food right down! Even the art on the packaging is unique. Can't wait to check out more varieties of Taste of the Wild!Date published: 2019-10-28Rated 4 out of 5 by rebekahb9 from I received 2 sample sizes of this dog food, and my dog LOVED it. Any changes in dog food does cause a change in his bowels, so I dont think I would permanently switch him over to this, but he did really enjoy it. He didnt even want to eat his regular food at his next meal! I did look at the price of a full bag though, and it seems to be a little pricey which is a shame.Date published: 2019-11-07Rated 5 out of 5 by bornamg from My dog really enjoyed the roasted fowl recipe. She is some what a picky eater so finding the perfect dog food for her is a challenge. She ate this food so fast so she really loved it. I will definitely recommend this to those dog parents who are looking for a healthier option and are looking to switch up the dog food brand that they are currently feeding their fur baby.Date published: 2019-11-11Rated 5 out of 5 by HeatherT from Best dog food! I have never seen my dogs so excited for mealtime. I have been feeding this food for a couple of years and my dogs are drooling ready to eat breakfast and supper. They absolutely love this food and have never acted this way with another food. This recipe has also fixed some allergies our Jack Russell has that other dog foods left her itching. 10/10 highly recommend!Date published: 2022-04-27Rated 4 out of 5 by kiahmessiah from My dog seemed to really enjoy the Ancient Wetlands Canine Recipe with Roasted Fowl, but boy did it make him gassy. Im hoping its because of the sudden switch from his main brand instead of slowly introducing it by mixing together until fully on to the new brand. I would definitely give this another try with a much bigger bag to do as I stated above first.Date published: 2020-06-10Rated 5 out of 5 by daniellevbe67 from Thank you Taste of the wild for taking your time to reach out to me and my fur baby so he could try this amazing food! He could wait.! I Torn open the bag and he couldnt hold the urge any more he LOVED IT! I appreciate them advising that to prevent any sensitivities. My rottweiler gobbled it right up and asked for more! (No complaints from us, he was a little gassy but I assume from a new food he is not used to.) Would purchase in the future!Date published: 2019-11-08Rated 2 out of 5 by leahh10 from I recieved a sample for my dog to test out. My dog is a big boy Akita/Lab mix but just because he's a eater doesn't mean he isn't picky. We have always used one brand of food and that's what he likes but that most certainly doesn't mean anyone else's fur babies wouldnt enjoy this food. Nice packaging and lists everything that the food consists of.Date published: 2019-11-04Rated 5 out of 5 by twoducks from FOUR DOGS HAVE LOVED IT We've been feeding our dogs TOTW for several years and they have never said they didn't like it. We have tried different flavors and all have worked. Our vet suggested a couple of years ago that we add grains so we were happy that there was an option in the TOTW family. They eat eagerly and we've had to get snuffle bowls because they eat too fast.Date published: 2022-02-24Rated 5 out of 5 by emmys from Taste of the Wild is already what we feed our one and a half year old husky. I love the quality of the kibble and he loves the flavors! My only downside with the brand originally was that everything was grain free, and this new ancient grains solves that issue. Hiro gobbled it up no issue and we will definitely be switching to this for good.Date published: 2019-10-30Is it okay to mix the grain free and ancient grains ?
Hello, and thanks for reaching out! Taste of the Wild and Taste of the Wild Ancient Grains recipes are complete and balanced and can be fed in rotation or in combination. Some dogs are more sensitive than others, so we always recommend a gradual transition between recipes to avoid digestive upset. While this outcome is unlikely, when multiple recipes are mixed it is possible that the dog could develop a dietary intolerance or sensitivity to a particular ingredient, and then it’s hard to isolate the culprit from among the multiple recipes. However, it’s important to know that most dogs will do fine with either feeding method. If you have any additional questions, we encourage you to contact us or speak with your veterinarian.
