Rated 5 out of 5 by from She loves it! My 1-year-old Siberian Husky was suffering from itchiness when I had her on Nutro Ultra. She just went to the vet and there is nothing indicating why she was itching, so I’m guessing it’s the Nutro since I just started her on it a month ago. Decided to switch her to this food - loved the ingredients, no chicken, which I found out lots of dogs have allergies to. She loves it so much that when I mixed this with her old food she only ate the half of the bowl that contained TOTW. I also got a deal at the store I bought it at while I was checking out, buy ten bags of TOTW and get one free! Nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog loves this food! Although, I think he'd love anything we put in front of him - he just loves to eat. We were having stomach/digestive issues with him for several months, tried all kinds of food including expensive RX stuff and nothing seemed to work. We thought it was food related for awhile, but finally resolved the issue but have kept him on this food since. It is slightly more expensive compared to average food brands (still cheaper than RX), but he likes it and his stomach is back to normal, so we'll keep him on it for now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The day I got this VoxBox from Influenster, I fed it to my sweet pup for dinner. She has a tendency to be fairly picky so shell often come to eat a little, then walk away with a partially empty bowl. She gobbled this up quickly, but admittedly, it was a smaller portion given that shes a larger breed. She didnt seem SO interested in Taste of the Wild that she turned her nose up to her typical brand after trying this sample, but she didnt reject it either. All in all, Id say it was a fair sample and Id consider buying again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My girl loved this food! Typically with salmon food, you get a very strong fishy smell and I didnt smell anything personally. Typically I do mix in new food with her existing food but with this one, I gave it to her straight away. She did not have any signs of an upset stomach. We will definitely be purchasing a bag of our own!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My dog did not have the best reaction to this food. Since he is still a puppy, we are weary about introducing new ingredients one of which is fish. I used these as training treats since they are small and easy to grab. He loved them and seems like they were easy to eat for him. However after a couple of days he became super itchy, to the point where he developed a hotspot on his leg. I am not a vet but I assumed that since this was the only new thing I gave him that this is probably what was making him so itchy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product was a great for my pup. He is actually on diet food but I decided to just let him enjoy his treat. My dog absolutely loved this. He enjoyed every last piece of it. This went way above my expectations. After consulting with his vet we decided to change his food to this and limit his amount. My pup thanks you for this amazing sample. We actually went and bought the biggest bag we could find at the local pet shop. ( we received this product complimentary for testing purposes). #WildForAncientGrains

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I wasnt thrilled with this food. My dogs have been on Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Canine Formula with Smoked Salmon for years. With recent DCM scares we thought maybe this type of grain may be ok for our very sensitive dogs. Im glad I only bought a small bag because my dogs were throwing up. Even eating cheap foods for a meal or two in a pinch this doesnt happen. I definitely wont be buying this again. We will stick with the other one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog LOVED this food. He tends to not eat all of his food at once, but he devoured this. No sooner was it in his bowl than it was gone. Now that Im out of the samples he gives me a sad puppy face when he realizes its his old stuff. Would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My boxers love taste of the wild that is what we feed regularly. They have great coats and nice shiny hair taste of the wild is a great choice for your pets in my opinion. You should try some of the many flavors they have and see if your pets would like it too

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My girl loves this My girl loves Taste of the Wild and I feel good about feeding it to her, especially knowing the salmon is sustainably sourced. The pre and probiotics keep her belly happy and I think the fish based formula is why her coat is so soft!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rhino likes it but his breath! Rhino has been eating ToW Salmon grain free for 2 yrs. Went to our pet store and they only had what appeared to be new was the ancient grain formula, so we got it. Blended it with the remainder of his grain free salmon. We also noticed his stool a different color and softer and recently his breath has become super fishy (like Barley's 3 mo ago) we are still in the 1st bag of this version and will be going back to grain free or trying beef. Rhino is a pure bred english bulldog btw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog is a VERY picky eater and I was so surprised to see that she LOVED this food. I always try to give my pup the best of the best but she normally turns her nose up at the healthier food and prefers other brands. This food I gave her a little piece and she was skeptical at first so I put some in her bowl only to turn around moments later to see her devouring it. I was so pleased that I can now get her a brand that isn't stuffed with fillers and other nasty ingredients.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Got sent two packages from Influenster for my 1 year old, 68lb pitbull to try. Not only is he allergic to chicken but he's generally a really picky eater so the fact that he went crazy for it was a huge plus. The downside for me is the ingredients. The extremely long list of them on the back of the package is a huge red flag for me when picking dog food for my little guy, so even though he loved the taste, its not something I would feel comfortable feeding him daily.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This review is kind of hard to write since my dog cant exactly tell me if she likes the food or not. My dog has been eating the same brand of food since a puppy (Iams) and shes 7 years old so I was a little reluctant to have her try something new. I gave her some as a treat and then mixed some into her food and she seemed to like it. The salmon flavor Im sure was a nice mix up to what she is used to. I also like that it seemed to be made with good ingredients

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 10 month old Vizsla puppy LOVED this food! Honestly with any other food I am always having to add something into his food (i.e. sweet potatoes, carrots, etc) because he just isnt interested in it. BUT, with this food he just ate it all right in front of my face and I was SHOCKED! To say the least. He loved the food and I feel like the salmon flavor really gave him a shinier coat for the next few days probably from all the Omega 3s. Loved this food!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My dog loved this but I felt like it didnt fill him up! We had to give him above and beyond what the bag said to feed him and then ended up just giving him some of his regular food. For the price, I feel like he would just eat through it so quickly! Im not really sure why it didnt fill him up, but he is also giant (almost 100 lbs) so maybe he needed a large breed option. Otherwise the ingredients were good and he did enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got this sent to me as a complimentary sample to try. The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging. I loved the artwork on it. My dogs loved the taste of it. It has lots of healthy ingredients that your dog needs such as Salmon and probiotics. I recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I took the photo before I got the instructions and immediately fed it to my 2 dogs. I think it was gone in 30 seconds, hence I had no chance of getting a photo lol. They both definitely seemed to like it. I have a shepherd/lab mix and a whippet/lab mix. I liked the ingredients also. Not a bunch of fillers in it, I only like to feed my dogs natural food. I would definitely recommend it to other pet parents.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall my pup liked it...eventually... Im quite a fan of the ingredients and the quality of the ingredients. The reason this is a 4 star and not a 5 star is because it took a little coaxing to get my pup to give it a try. He gave it a smell and looked at me like mom this is different and after encouragement was into the new food. This could just be that my pup likes his routine and consistency though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Our pupper ate this up super fast so he didnt have any complaints! The packaging is really nature themed and makes it look expensive. However, I didnt really notice any difference compared to his normal food- except for the fact that it made his toots 100x worse than normal. I appreciate that this is meant to be better for dogs but there is no way I could live with his gas being that bad all the time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Severe beef allergy, transition back to grains! So far, so good. Our senior dog (Wes, 11yrs) is allergic to beef. Finding a completely beef-free food (including no marrow, saw/bone dust, liver, other organs, etc.) that still has grains, AND that he actually likes/wants to eat has been a real challenge over the years. We have been very happy with Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Fish & Sweet Potato recipe for the last several years, but we've recently added a puppy (Seeker, 9.5 weeks) to the family, and with the preliminary research linking grains to heart health, we wanted to find something that both dogs could eat, and that wouldn't cause any (potential) long-term problems for the growing pup. Finding a dry food that satisfies both of our dogs' dietary requirements seemed like an impossible thing, and then I found this stuff. The kibbles are a bit smaller than what Wes is used to, but he still crunches them so that's good (he doesn't gulp them down whole, which we worried might happen due to the smaller size), and they're a little larger than the standard "puppy" sized food (which is okay, because it's forcing Seeker to actually chew some of his food instead of just inhaling it), but the caloric content and DHA levels are the same or higher than the Taste of the Wild puppy food, so once we get everyone gradually transitioned, both dogs will be able to eat the same stuff (which makes our human lives easier, for sure)! We're about a week into the transition process, and so far everyone's tummies are doing great! The food doesn't smell any more or less "fishy" than any of the other fish/salmon foods we've fed in the past, and the dogs' breath isn't any better or worse than it's always been (Wes has old man breath, even with good teeth, and Seeker still has puppy breath). Very pleased so far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, but it took my dog a while to get used to it. I love that I was sent the Smoked Salmon recipe because my dog tends to have upset stomach issues if he eats certain proteins (lamb, especially). I also love the ingredients it has. It makes me feel at ease knowing Im feeding my dog high quality food. Im so happy I had the opportunity to try this product free for reviewing purposes.

I'd like to transition my dog to the smoked salmon ancient grain recipe. I am however concerned with the salt content since it is "smoked" salmon. Is there any information on if this food has a higher salt content than the other flavors?

Our standard poodle has been on the Taste of the Wild Pacific Salmon since birth. She is the healthiest and fastest dog at our 150 acre dog park. We need to add grains..is the smoked salmon as healthy as fresh?

Asked by: Patty
Hello, Patty and thank you for being a loyal TOTW customer! Our Ancient Stream Canine Recipe contains the same salmon ingredients as the grain-free recipe. As the number one ingredient in both formulas, salmon provides high-quality protein and omega fatty acids to support healthy skin and coat. If you decide to make the switch to a recipe with grains, remember to make a gradual transition over a period of 7-10 days. The Ancient grains Salmon doesn't say it is egg free but I don't see eggs in the ingredients list? Is it? Also is it ok for large/giant breed puppies vs the Pacific Stream puppy formula, or which would be better for a large/giant breed?

Asked by: Nclemente
