This is really a wonderful food - I'm so impressed! I had been feeding raw for a number of years and in truth, I prefer raw, but it's very cost prohibitive. Even when I was using it, my puppy buyers could not justify paying that much for dog food. So I've always been interested in finding a good alternative for them. Well, my raw supplier decided not to distribute it any more so I was forced to see what was available in my area. I needed to cut costs as well, but needed a food that my crew could eat and thrive on. I settled on another brand (duck and turkey) - wasn't real happy with the cost, but it was the best that I could find locally. One problem - my puppies didn't like it. I tried everything - added chicken broth, fish...you name it. We even sat with them to get them to finish eating. I was beginning to think I had picky eaters.
Last weekend, I walked into Bridger Feeds to get more food and happened to mention Taste of the Wild and shock me - they had it in stock! I put the Instinct back and brought home High Prairie with Bison and Venison. I soaked some in warm water for the 2 puppies and they CLEANED THEIR PLATE! This morning, I just put dry food in their dish - GONE. I'm so thrilled! Their coats are beautiful and they're alert and active - just like puppies should be!! Of course, the older dogs eat it readily too.
